This is what happens when you have a full moon lighting up the night sky, silhouetting the tall trees surrounding the campsite, a Grandaughter gone to bed with an LED flashlight, and a half crazy Grandad with a camera and tripod standing in the camper doorway in his PJ's after everyone was in bed asleep.
Photo's and tales of adventure and/or misadventure as the Dower's go camping, canoeing, and hiking.

Butterpot Park 2012
July brings the warmer weather we have been waiting for and we head to Butterpot Provincial Park for a few days in the great outdoors.
Our dog Max stands guard over our campsite.
A wet and tired Max reluctantly poses for a portrait as we return form a walk in the woods.
This is one of the little fellas that seemed to enjoy each and every time poor Max reaches the end of his leash at full speed.
As the setting sun was still casting a warm light on the tops of the surrounding hills I noticed this through the trees surrounding our campsite.
La Manche
Our next 2 camping weekends take us to La Manche provincial park on the southern Avalon peninsula.
Photo #1. La Manche falls is just a short walk from the campground and is a beautiful scene early in the year when the water level is still high.
Photo #2 The ruins of an old rock bridge that crossed the La Manche river.

First trip 2012
Our first trip of 2012 was of course the traditional May 24 long weekend. You know the weekend I'm referring to, the one that is way too cold for comfortable camping but yet we all go.It's the weekend that marks the beginning of the camping season. The photo below is of The Old Mill RV Park near Avondale NL.
